Lenin
Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, born 1870 in Ulyanovsk, is beyond any doubt one of the most consequential leaders of the 20th century, if not throughout the history of mankind. He was the leader of the October (Bolshevik) Revolution that established the first communist government in the world. The Lenin posters we have (see below the text) reflect his oratorical flamboyance, passion for change but also his wisdom and the inspiration he was for decades after he passed away.

Under him the Soviet Union was found. He was the architect of the Marxist-Leninist ideology and Leninism - he adopted the works of Marx to be fitting the Russian conditions. His Leninist doctrine advised for a "dictatorship of the proletariat" to take place. He was influential in spreading the communist ideology worldwide. This lead to the conditions for the Cold war to begin after the defeat of Nazi Germany, a couple of decades after his death.
